Shanghai Tower

Shanghai, China, Asia Pacific

Completed · Mixed Use · Supertall Twisted Tower With Sky Gardens · Subtropical · 2015

A 632m supertall with a 120° aerodynamic twist that reduces wind loads by 24% compared to a rectangular form, allowing the structural system to be right-sized and saving approximately 32,000 tonnes of steel. Nine stacked sky gardens within the double-skin facade create internal microclimates and reduce solar gain.
