A toroidal steel-and-glass structure clad in 1,024 complex stainless-steel facade panels laser-cut with Arabic calligraphy, assembled using BIM-coordinated digital fabrication without any right angles in the external envelope. The structural system uses a diagrid exoskeleton that eliminates internal columns across 77 m spans.
Innovation highlights
- toroidal diagrid exoskeleton spanning 77 m column-free
- 1,024 unique stainless-steel GFRP composite facade panels fabricated via CNC
- Arabic calligraphy integrated as structural apertures, not applied decoration
- full BIM-to-fabrication digital thread with zero traditional shop drawings
- LEED Platinum arid-climate performance with reflective envelope
