Cambridge, United Kingdom, Europe

Completed · Civic · Mosque · Temperate · 2019

Europe's first purpose-built eco-mosque, seating 1,000 worshippers under a prayer hall roofed by tree-like glulam timber columns forming an interlaced octagonal lattice vault. Naturally lit and ventilated, with rooftop photovoltaics, air-source heat pumps and rainwater harvesting feeding a SUDS landscape. It was shortlisted for the 2021 RIBA Stirling Prize.
