The qualifying constraint is that thermal conductivity measured in a flat-panel lab test does not predict long-term building performance once the vacuum layer is subject to the thermal cycling, humidity variation, and handling risk of real construction. Vacuum integrity is binary: a breach reduces a high-performance panel to foam-equivalent overnight, with no field repair option, and there is no published long-term vacuum retention data under real building conditions. Third-party ASTM thermal testing by Intertek exists and is credible. Government CRADAs (Navy NAVSEA, Army) indicate early-stage interest but are not equivalent to procurement or deployment.
