This record holds no tracked evidence and no measured outcomes, so the claimed benefits remain unverified for this specific application. The value is most credible when standardisation is designed in from brief stage: attempting to apply off-site logic to a scheme whose geometry or specification has already been resolved for bespoke construction typically captures little of the efficiency premium and introduces coordination cost instead. The trade-off a specifier needs to name early is between standardisation discipline and design flexibility: DfMA requires the team to commit to repeated elements and resist the incremental variations that accumulate in detailed design. Procurement route matters too — early contractor and specialist sub-contractor involvement is usually necessary to make the supply-chain benefits real, which has implications for when and how the contractor is appointed.
