Blocks are dry-jointed with friction-fit interlocks and no mortar, glue or sealant, so the wall is assembled by hand and can later be taken apart without damage. Eliminating wet trades and adhesives speeds build and keeps materials pure for reuse. The method makes a building genuinely reversible.

Eliminating mortar and adhesive from a masonry-type construction by relying on precision-fit interlocking geometry is a meaningful commitment to reversibility: if no bond agent is used, the wall can be dismantled by reversing the assembly, and every block comes away chemically uncontaminated, retaining full material value. The value proposition is strongest in the context of circular economy targets where future disassembly is a genuine requirement rather than an aspiration, and where the material being dry-jointed has high intrinsic value worth preserving — which cork does. As with the structural performance of the blocks themselves, this record carries no evidence beyond the design intent: the long-term lateral stability of a dry-jointed wall under wind, seismic micro-movement and thermal cycling is unverified. The practical constraint for most projects is that dry jointing demands tighter manufacturing tolerances than mortared construction, which means higher block unit cost and less tolerance for on-site variation. The method also presupposes that future disassembly is actually planned and that a recovery pathway for the blocks exists — without that, the reversibility case collapses into a more expensive version of conventional construction.
