Pre-oxidising copper to a controlled dark patina — developed with metal specialists — addresses a real problem with natural copper cladding: the patina develops unevenly over years and the intermediate streaky phase is visually inconsistent. A chemically stabilised black finish sidesteps that by starting at a defined colour and weathering predictably from there.
