They distribute air through the full length of the textile via micro-perforations and seam openings, producing a low-velocity diffuse throw with minimal draughts that suits occupied spaces below the duct run, and the installed weight is a fraction of equivalent metal. The record shows claimed evidence only, but this is a widely deployed product category rather than an experimental approach. The practical qualifications are real: fabric duct cleanliness requires periodic laundering, which means specifying removable attachment systems and a maintenance protocol from the outset; perforated-zone throw patterns are harder to model precisely than a fixed diffuser; and the low weight that makes them attractive for temporary structures also means they move in high-velocity airstreams, which needs to be managed with tension anchors.
