Prefab header/balancing boxes even out parallel duct runs.
Simple prefabricated balancing boxes or a header placed by the air handling unit even out air distribution across long parallel runs, replacing fiddly on-site balancing. The boxes can be made in metal or fabric and reused across events.
Balancing parallel duct runs off a common prefabricated header is a straightforward solution to a common installation problem: when several runs of equal or similar length share a supply plenum, without a deliberate balancing device the naturally unequal resistances push airflow toward the shortest run and starve the farthest. On-site damper adjustment is the conventional fix but it is time-consuming, requires commissioning visits and often degrades over time as dampers are repositioned. A prefabricated header or balancing box upstream of the runs moves the balancing into a controlled workshop environment, is consistently repeatable, and in temporary or touring applications can be packed and reinstated at the next venue without recalibration. The record sits at claimed evidence only, but the engineering logic is conventional; the real value here is in the operational and logistical dimension of a reusable system. For permanent installations the incremental benefit over a well-commissioned damper arrangement is modest — the case strengthens significantly in event and temporary contexts where commissioning time is short and venue-to-venue reuse matters.
